Mum to Oliver, Helen has been with the charity from the start. Originally taking on a ‘behind-the-scenes’ role, supporting and thanking fundraisers, developing the charity’s information, and organising fundraising activities, Helen now acts as the charity’s Communications and Fundraising Manager. Unfortunately, since Oliver was diagnosed, more young children in the UK have received the same news. Helen acts as the first point of call for families; she offers parents a network of friends who understand their distress and can offer guidance. Having been an experienced teacher, Helen can offer practical advice for parents and schools regarding mainstream education for their child.
